OLIVIO & CO is a lifestyle eyewear brand for families inspired by the beauty of the Mediterranean, with an emphasis on creating fashionable & environmental eyewear for kids.
The use of sustainable and recycled material for the kids sunglasses packaging underlines the brand’s high ecological standard and education to the younger generation.
Each pair of sunglasses comes in an earth-friendly moulded sugarcane pulp box that is 100% biodegradable and recyclable, together with a microfibre cloth made from recycled PET (reclaimed from water bottles). The moulded pulp clamshell container has the distinctive shape of the sunglasses precisely thermoformed on the lid, while the textured surface adds to the tactility to convey a sense of anticipation before opening. Upon opening, the colourful pattern of the microfibre cloth provides a welcoming contrast to the natural colour of the pulp container. The packaging is environmentally friendly yet lightweight and durable for shipping. With a stackable design that allows easy display and storage in retail environments.

About the Red Dot Design Award:
In order to appraise the diversity in the field of design in a professional manner, the Red Dot Design Award breaks down into the three disciplines of Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept. With more than 18,000 entries, the Red Dot Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions. In 1955, a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. In the 1990s, Red Dot CEO Professor Dr. Peter Zec developed the name and brand of the award. Ever since, the sought-after distinction “Red Dot” has been the revered international seal of outstanding design quality. The award winners are presented in the yearbooks, museums and online.
